Thank you for considering donating your preloved sling or carrier or babywearing coat to the Building Bonds Project!
We are volunteer run and completely reliant on the generosity of donations from the Friends of the Project as well as people like you to be able to help families in need.
To ensure safety and optimum comfort for the child and wearer, we will:
-
only accept donations of nearly new slings and carriers and coats in excellent, clean, fully working condition
-
prior to accepting, inspect all donations to ensure they are suitable and fit for purpose
We can accept donations of new carriers too, providing they meet our needs!
Please note that we reserve the right to decline donations if we feel they are not suitable for the needs of the Project, or if we are currently well-stocked with carriers. Some brands have been counterfeited so we may ask for proof of original purchase.
Please do not be offended if we cannot accept your donation. The families we help are often at a vulnerable and overwhelming time in their lives and we are hoping to make their lives easier and simpler with comfy, easy-to-use slings and carriers that will last for some time. We are aiming to deliver the same experience and service as we would offer through a sling library session.
All donations should be taken in for inspection or posted (if pre-arranged with a member of the team, after assessment) to The Snug, 71 Leadmill Road, Sheffield, S1 4SE
Below is a list of the types of slings and carriers we will accept, providing they are in excellent condition. Please note this is just a guide, if you are not sure if your carrier is suitable, please just get in touch and ask us!
Two-Way Stretchy Wraps (that stretch across width and length), Close Caboo Carriers
Woven Wraps
Buckled Carriers that have a wider-based seat (this is because narrow-based carriers often offer less support as babies grow, and may be less comfortable for the parent)
Ring Slings with un-welded metal rings, made by a reputable company or a professional converter with insurance
Meh Dais, Half Buckles and Onbuhimos made by a reputable company or a professional converter with insurance.
Babywearing Coats
If you would like to get involved in other ways, you can donate to our fundraising, offer your time, and share the word about the project!
